TIMBERLEE PERFORMS AT ZOOBAR, ROME/ITALY

Dancehall Diva Timberlee drew a big crowd at Zoobar in Rome with a club full of Italian dancehall fans. Wasting no time Timberlee went through her catalogue, with every tune getting a big forward. The biggest forward for the night was “Bubble Like Soup”  which is the track she ended with, leaving the crowd calling for more.

AIDONIA LOCKS DOWN ROME/ITALY

Aidonia performed at Brancaleone in Rome,Italy last week to a club full of Italian dancehall fans, he left the crowd chanting “J.O.P” and “lawrd evil”!! Aidonia was even comfortable enough to go into the crowd and perfom to them at arm’s length!!!

VYBZ KARTEL TRIAL UDATE: KARTEL OFFERED BAIL FOR GANJA BUT HAS TO REFUSE

Vybz Kartel’s drug trial has been put off till 14^th March, where he will be back in the Cororate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, went on trial to answer to the possession of ganja charge brought against him.

He was offered $40,000 bail but could not take it up because of other charges he is facing for which he has not been able to secure bail.

U.S FINALLY RESPOND TO BUJU BANTONS APPEAL, BUT NOT THE RESPONSE WE WANT TO HEAR.

The US government says; plenty of evidence supports a federal jury’s conviction of Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton on cocaine conspiracy and trafficking charges. 

Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, is appealing the February 2011 conviction. Defence attorney David O Markus says his client was relentlessly pursued by a government informant, resulting in improper entrapment. Federal prosecutors filed their response Friday in Atlanta’s federal appeals court. Prosecutors say Banton’s words and actions, in recorded conversations and a videotaped meeting in a Florida warehouse where Banton tasted some cocaine, revealed the singer “eagerly brokered” a drug deal between a friend and undercover government agents. Banton is serving a 10-year prison sentence.

MAVADO DUE BACK IN COURT MARCH 7TH

Mavado is to return the Montego Bay R-M court on March 7 where he will answer to charges of malicious destruction of property and assault.

Mavado was slapped with the charge July of last year.

 All this stems from an incident near Anchovy, St James. Reports are that at about 7:00 p.m.; 

Mavado assaulted a man and damaged his Toyota Camry motor vehicle along the Belmont main road in St. James.

A promoter who allegedly tried to pay off the man and his son was charged with preverting the course of justice and conspiracy to prevert the course of justice.

In other news, it has also been reported on several news outlets that Dancehall superstar Mavado recently got married to his long-time companion, Monique McKenzie.

However Mavado’s manager Julian Griffiths denied the claim as a rumour that was started by a certain Gossip website.

Come on mavado, you seem to be the last man standing. Please stay out of trouble!!!!!!

VYBZ KARTEL TRIAL UPDATE

Ok, so I thought I would give a little update on the everlasting Kartel trial. On 1st February 2012, Vybz Kartel whose real name is Adijah Palmer was remanded in custody. He was charged before judges on conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Vybz Kartel alongside Gaza Slim and Pim Pim are scheduled to stand trial for the above charges on 8^th May 2012.

These charges came from an incident where Kartel and Gaza Slim alleged a plot to undermine the Clive “Lizard” Williams murder case against the self-proclaimed “World Boss”. Allegations are that Gaza Slim filed a police report in October 2011 claiming that she was robbed by Clive in Haven dale.

Investigators said Gaza Slim, Kartl and Pim Pim plotted to fabricate the story. Police then revealed they have a mobile phone with a text allegedly sent by Kartel to Gaza Slim.

Vybz Kartel is also facing double murder charges and possession of an illegal fire arm.

So what do you think?? Will Kartel ever see the end of this? Will Kartel win this case or will it be a long time till we see Kartel back on the streets???

USAIN BOLT GETS NEGATIVE MEDIA ATTENTION

The fastest man on earth has recently been the centre of the media attention but this time for the wrong reasons. Usain Bolt has been attracting negative press for partying too hard over the recent holidays.

Bolt reportedly rolled up to the Blowout sandbar party in a yacht filled with girls and “Partied like a rock star” hitting a booze bong and chugging down the Patron.

I say “who cares” as long as it does not fully affect his track career let him have some fun…. What do you think???

NOTNICE SPLITS WITH RECENT PARTNER COREY TODD

Dancehall producer Notnice, the former Portmore Empire member has recently split with his most recent partner Cory Todd.

In a recent interview with Anthony Miller of ER Notnice talks about his split with Corey Todd:

“He is focus on nightclubs and products while my main focus is on making riddims,”

When ask if he will work with Popcaan, NotNice said, “mi no think so inno, because mi no know if a true the whole gaza thing, but mi no have notten against Popcaan, mi proud a him.”

Notnice says he wants to work with artists from all camps in 2012 and has no intrest in musical segregation. Notnice is the producer behind popular dancehall riddims like “Gansta City”, “S Class”, “Street Vybz” and more.

ELEPHANT MAN CHARGED WITH GRIEVOUS SEXUAL ASSULT AND RAPE

Yes Popular dancehall artist Elephant Man was arrested on charges of grievous sexual assault and rape on 31^st January. He was then released on bail the next day after forking out $400,000 Jamaican dollars ($ 4,637.95 U.S dollars)

Apparently the police said the charges are from an incident at his St. Andrew home early January, investigators said a woman filed a police report claiming O’Neil “elephant man “ Brian sexually assaulted her, which then led to elephant man’s arrest.

Buju Banton facing 15-year prison sentence after being found guilty on three counts of drugs and weapons charges in a Florida court

Vybz Kartel currently remanded on charges of murder, conspiracy to murder, illegal possession of a firearm.

Ninja Man was charged by the St. Andrew South police for illegal possession of a firearm, shooting with intent and conspiracy to commit murder.

So I ask myself……. WHAT IS GOIN ON IN THE DANCEHALL SCENE?????
