POPCAAN SEALS COLLAB WITH RAP ICON SNOOP DOGG
Dancehall’s rising star Popcaan; has been keeping busy while Kartel has been behind bars by keeping the Gaza name at the top of the charts, he recently has landed a collaboration with rap icon Snoop Dogg.
In an interview with the Star, Popcaan said Carleene Samuels, a member of his management team, was key in making the link between himself and Doggy Dogg’s team.
“Carleene Samuels (my management team) is good friends with the executive producer of the Snoop Dogg project so she approached them like two months ago. She made the link already so when they reach we went to the studio and just listen to nuff different tracks,” Popcaan said.
Snoop Dogg is set to release his up and coming album ‘Reincarated’ in the summer along with a documentary. Popcaan has recorded three tracks for Snoop Dogg’s production team, one of which will be featured on his new album.
“We meet and hol’ a vibe and write few songs and then we lay down about three tracks, so the album production team will have some different vibes to work with, so we don’t know which one will be final. So it’s not like we have a song together already,” Popcaan disclosed.
“Snoop was cool, and we chat and vibe. I introduced him to apple vodka and ting and he liked it so we just hol a vibe all night, was a ravin drink up link,” the Portmore Empire deejay added.
