Black Cat will be defending their title at the return of one of dancehall’s most recognised sound system clash, World Clash.
Promoters Irish and Chin recently announced
that the popular series will return to Pier 1 in Montego Bay on Easter
Monday, April 9th. The event is being advertised at “World Class
Jamaica R.E.S.E.T.” formerly known as Death Before Dishonour.
Black Cat, who is the defending champion,
will be going up against other top local sounds including seven-time
champion Bass Odyssey and two-time champion Kilamanjaro, Black Blunt and
Code Red.
This year will also see two overseas sound system, Rootsman
from Canada and Heavy Hammer from Italy.
The popular World Clash series had been on a two-year "cool out", but will return this year with a bang.
According to Irish And Chin say they will
be treating fans to some freebies from Japan base sound system Mighty
Crown. Mighty Crown, who has won the series a number of occasions, will
be giving away 15 pairs of their limited edition Nike sneakers. Tony
Matterhorn will host the event.
