DON ANDRE: FUN NEVER STOPS VIDEO
UK rising artist "Don Andre" releases video for new summer banger "Roll Wi Ah Roll"
VYBZ KARTEL OPENS UP ABOUT COREY TODD SPLIT
Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel has opens up about the infamous split with longtime business partner Corey Todd last year. Recently Todd released a statement confirming the reunion. In his statement Corey Todd attribute the split to Vybz Kartel’s associates.
Now the self proclaim Worl’Boss is echoing the same sentiments.
According to the “Dancehall Hero” deejay, he was too caught up being “world boss.”
“What happened between me and Corey was just a misunderstanding,” Vybz Kartel said in a statement.
“Truth be told I really had some negative elements around me, that bad mind me and Corey partnership because of its success. At the time I was too caught up being world boss to realize I was destroying one of realest friendships I ever had. Being in here made me realize that we did achieve greatness together… after all if a neva fi Corey and Kartel STREET VYBZ woulda never buss in people head and Building would a never Buck pon a Saturday.”
Vybz Kartel’s common-law wife, Tanesha ‘shorty’ Johnson, release a letter from the deejay to his fans.
“Gaza fans just get ready fi start clubbing it and rummin it,” Kartel said in the letter. “Right now, this reunion bigga than the north and south after the civil war…The business mogul and the dancehall star…Awoh!”
NO MORE PORTMORE EMPIRE!!!!!
Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel has officially disbanded the Portmore Empire.
In a statement sent to Urban Islandz from Adidjahiem Records reps, Vybz Kartel said he took the conscious decision because of his current legal troubles.
“Dancehall fans worldwide it with great regret that I, Adidja Palmer, have decided to disband the Portmore Empire,” Vybz Kartel said in the statement. “These artistes have been under the Adidjahiem leadership for years, where they have honed their craft and made their mark, and as such, are well on their way to becoming major forces in Dancehall. They have reached a level where they are more capable to take on their careers by themselves, and it would be unfair to them, based on the limited resources of Adidjahiem Records, and current legal woes of the Adidjahiem C.E.O. and team members.”
“I wish them the best and I am confident that they will live up to my expectations. In the future, Adidjahiem will continue to bring out new acts and groom them for stardom,”
Portmore Empire has been one of the most dominant crews in dancehall over the last five years. This was no surprise since Vybz Kartel spearheads the group shortly after leaving from under the wings of his former mentor Bounty Killer, who heads the Alliance.
Former members of the Portmore Empire Tommy Lee and Gaza Slim, aka Vanessa Bling, have formed their own label, PG13.
“Look out for PG13…It soon work in,” Tommy Lee said, while Gaza Slim added, “right now, a PG13 di ting deh.”
Recently Corey Todd released a statement blaming associates of Vybz Kartel for their fallout last year, as well as, his current legal woes.
“The associates that led to his incarceration are the same associates that cause our partnership to end at the time, but I must add that our egos also clashed. His arrest had a humbling effect on me and caused me to reflect on my own actions. I then lost interest in my present projects and made artistes involved aware that I wish discontinue, this around November,”
BUSY SIGNAL'S RESPONSE TO RECENT ARREST
Dancehall star Busy Signal has released a statement in response to his
recent arrest in Kingston and pending extradition to the United States.
In the statement released to the media, Busy Signal thanks his family, friends and fans for their unwavering support.
Busy Signal, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, was recently arrested at the Norman Manley International airport in Kingston after an extradition warrant was issued for his arrest.
The “One More Night” deejay has waved his rights to an extradition hearing and will proceed to the U.S. next month where he is expected to stand trial for absconding bail.
Read Busy Signal full statement below.
In this a time of reflection, I would like to thank my fans who have supported me through this difficult situation and who will continue to support me. Your messages and prayers via social networks and via members of my team are what have brought light to the darkness of my cell.
I have never admitted that I was involved in any drug deal or drug arrangement.
I waived my rights to an extradition trial here in Jamaica, so that I can return to the US to face a charge of absconding bail ONLY.
This incident took place ten (10) years ago before I even considered becoming an artiste.
As you can understand, this is a difficult time for me, however during my time away, my fans will not be left with a void – there are several unreleased tracks that will definitely keep you “busy” until my return.
I recently released my album Reggae Music Again, which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard Reggae charts. On my recent tour of Amsterdam and Paris, we shot elements for the video to the title track of the album. It features cameos from Marcia Griffiths, Queen Ifrica and Anthony B and that will be released in a couple of weeks.
For my fans overseas, my management team has been in dialogue with promoters who have all shown their support for me and my situation and for that I thank them.
For my family, you have stood by me through thick and thin and I know you will continue to do so. In my time away, I have made the necessary arrangements with my management team to have you taken care of until my return.
To my band. Hi-Voltage, you have toured the world with me and have been a tower of strength. Continue to make good music until I return, cause the mission will continue.
I know that my facebook page has been inactive for a while, but, starting this week, Shane Brown, head of Juke Boxx management team, will assume direct control of my twitter account -@busysignal_turf and my facebook page – www.facebook.com/OneBusySignal. I will be kept updated so please continue to send your love, support and prayers through these channels, as they keep me going.
To my legal team, KD Knight, Bert Samuels and Roxanne Mars, your positive words and unfailing belief and support in me and my case have made this situation a little easier to bear.
Thank you very much.
Finally my friends, my fans and my family, thank you again from the depths of my heart. Please keep me in your prayers.
We not going down, cause God alone controls my destiny.

Is Kartel and Tommy Lee really taking shots at Poppy??? Take a listen and drop a comment.
Beenie Man responds to heavy criticism
Beenie Man is facing heavy criticism from fellow dancehall artists and fans alike. The dancehall legend has, however, denied apologizing to the gay community.
In a statement released to the media, Beenie Man said he was simply asking the gay community to leave us (dancehall artists) alone.
“I never apologized,” Beenie Man said in the release. “Jamaican people need to be more literate about life. Five years ago, we stop sing certain songs, and start focus more on dancehall to make it what it is today. I said that they (the gays) should leave us alone, don’t have us up for what we said when we were young. That happened 20 years ago, nobody is the same person they were 20 years ago.”
“I told them to leave us alone, to try to understand where we are coming from, but still yu have some selectors weh go pon the mic and talk a bagga tings. So when the gays put on dance and want to spend $150,000, you selector bwoy, don’t tek dem money, run dem outta the dance. Dem caan use dem little bird brain pon me, man ah lion,”
Beenie Man also respond to longtime rival Bounty Killer over some damning remarks on Twitter.
“Bounty Killer need fi tweet say ah eight people lef inna the venue outta 8,000 fi see him perform after him ah insist say him waan close the show over Amsterdam Reggae Festival, ah dat him fi tweet. After mi perform, the show done and everybody lef’ …nobody never waan see him,”

BOUNTY KILLER'S STATEMENT ON ISSUES OF GAY RIGHTS AND REGGAE MUSIC
Dancehall icon Bounty Killer has stepped forward to make his stance clear on the issue of gay rights and reggae/dancehall music.
According to Bounty Killer, it is because of money why Beenie Man is afraid of the gay community.

Bounty Killer also weighs in on Twitter shortly after the Beenie Man video message went viral.
BELGIAN GAY COMMUNITY CALL TRUCE WITH REGGAE ARTISTS
Beenie Man public cry to the gay community has not gone unanswered.
The gay community in Belgium has called a truce with reggae artistes. Beenie Man released a viral video declaring his stance on gay rights. According to Beenie Man, he has nothing but respect for gays and lesbians.
The gay and transgender organisations, the promoters of reggae concerts and reggae festivals and the reggae community in Belgium release the below statement.
“The concert and festival promoters and the reggae community recognise that some Jamaican artists in the past have performed homophobic lyrics, and are still doing that in their own country or elsewhere in the world. It goes without saying that hate speech and incitement to violence against people (legally) do not belong on our stages. But reggae music has since many years been a fixed presence in the concert world, with a faithful and in all respects very tolerant audience. These people can not be left standing in the cold, neither can a whole generation of artists be banned from our stages.”
“The signatories agree that this impasse can not continue. Rather than confront again and again to a head float, we opt for a constructive dialogue and fitting information and awareness campaign. We are convinced that the gay issue far more benefits from a harmonious relationship with the reggae world than in the current conflict. We are more fellow-travellers than opponents.
The signatories are also aware that they can not change the homophobic legislation in Jamaica (or any other country where gay rights are a distant utopia) by banning reggae music off our stages. On the contrary, our experience shows that the artists who have performed here, are inclined to expand their views on the subject and subsequently spread these in Jamaica. Reggae music as a catalyst for gay rights in a traditionally homophobic society: wouldn’t it be nice? The actions of the gay and lesbian movement, the Reggae Compassionate Act (2007) and the consistent attitude of the concert and festival organizers have already made sure that no Jamaican artist performs any more homophobic lyrics to the European stages. With this charter, we want to take the awareness in Jamaica and other countries a step further."
- To eliminate homophobic hate speech finally – and preferably worldwide – from reggae music, the signatories commit themselves to the following:
- We start with a clean slate. For hate speech and homophobic statements in the past, there is a one-time amnesty. Artists that persist in performing offensive lyrics after the publication of this charter (May 2012) anywhere in the world will no longer be welcome on our stages and in the communication of Reggae. be.
- The promoters of reggae concerts and festivals where reggae music is regularly programmed, commit not to invite or promote any artist who – on stage or on record – uses hate speech, especially against gays. The ban on homophobic and offensive lyrics, including comments during concerts, will be contracted with a uniform formulation.
- The promoters also commit themselves to talk to the artists in person and make them aware of the problem. Karel Michiels (Reggae.be) makes himself available as an intermediary, and has already had several meetings with artists before the publication of this charter.
- The organisers will not hesitate to interrupt the action and file a complaint if the artist does not comply with the agreements.
- The gay and transgender organisations cease to boycotting reggae concerts or lobbying for that purpose.
- The gay and transgender organizations promise to acquire information about gay emancipation in Jamaica, and to support and advise activists on the spot.
- The signatories of this charter will put together a thorough information campaign on this theme. The texts are jointly prepared and distributed at concerts and through websites, under the umbrella of the CGKR (Centre for Equal Opportunities and the struggle against Racism.)
- The signatories will share this charter with all stakeholders and partners in Europe to create a uniform European approach.
- The signatories of this charter will jointly evaluate the situation in October. Artists who ignore the contractual agreements in Belgium or any other country and keep using hate speech or homophobic statements, will be put on the ‘pink list’, and will consequently not be programmed for the period of at least two years. To avoid misunderstandings, the texts will be analyzed carefully.

“I get to understand that people are still creating problems for me to work,” Beenie Man said. “But let me make this clear and straight. I have nothing against no one. I respect each and every human being, regardless of which race, regardless of which religious belief you have, and regardless of which sexual preference you are, including gays and lesbians.”Beenie Man seems to believe that the issues with him and the gay community stems from tracks he did 20years ago..
“Do not fight against me for some songs I did 20 years ago,” Beenie Man pleads. “There is no one in this world is the same as they were 20 years ago, I know I am not. I was a kid and I come from Waterhouse, which is a small community. I never know what the world is like and what the world is all about. But now I know that people live in this world that live their life differently from my life. I still have to respect and love human beings.”

NINJA MAN AND SON GETS BAIL FOR $2MILLION JD EACH
After 3 long years the 46yr old veteran deejay Ninja Man and his Son
Janiel have finally been granted bail at a sum of $2million (jamaican dollars).
Desmond “Ninja man” Ballentine’s Lawyers had complained that the two were
actually serving sentences, before bail applications or trial dates have even
been set.
Lawyer Valerie Neita-Robinson has said she was concerned about the latitude
which the Bench gave to the prosecution in regard to the trial dates and adjournments.
She pointed out the accused persons had to wait two to three months before a
date was set for bail application and that was a breach of the Constitution and
Bail Act.
The deejay and his son along with two other men are charged with the March 16, 2009 murder of a twenty year old man.

U.S FINALLY RESPOND TO BUJU BANTONS APPEAL, BUT NOT THE RESPONSE WE WANT TO HEAR.
The US government says; plenty of evidence supports a federal
jury’s conviction of Jamaican reggae star Buju Banton on cocaine conspiracy and
trafficking charges.
Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, is appealing the
February 2011 conviction. Defence attorney David O Markus says his client was
relentlessly pursued by a government informant, resulting in improper
entrapment. Federal prosecutors filed their response Friday in Atlanta’s
federal appeals court. Prosecutors say Banton’s words and actions, in recorded
conversations and a videotaped meeting in a Florida warehouse where Banton
tasted some cocaine, revealed the singer “eagerly brokered” a drug deal between
a friend and undercover government agents. Banton is serving a 10-year prison
sentence.
